Preparation
For the best results always thoroughly prepare the surface. Ensure the surfaces to be painted are clean dry and free from dust, dirt, grease and wax.
- Remove all loose and defective paint to leave a smooth and sound surface. Glossy surfaces should be lightly abraded to provide a key.
- Non-ferrous surfaces - Lightly abrade the surface. Allow new galvanised steel to be weathered for two months before painting with the All Metals Primer.
- Ferrous surfaces - On mild steel remove as much rust as possible and apply the primer within two hours of cleaning.
Application
We always recommend testing a small inconspicuous area to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Stir well and apply using a brush, roller, conventional H.V.L.P or airless spray.
- On ferrous surfaces some flash rusting may occur, especially if below the dew point. This is expected and will not affect the anti-corrosive properties of the product.
- In most cases only one coat will be required.
Aftercare & Storage
Ensure to clean the rim of the paint tin and firmly replace the lid before storing in a cool, dry area that will protect the paint from low temperatures. Do not store in a shed or by hanging on a hook.
